Nationals Visits Auburn

By Chris Godfrey
National Advisor

This semester has flown by and my visit to Auburn helped turn the calendar to October. These men are in full swing with mixers, retreats, tailgates, pledgeship, cell groups and much more.

After officer dinner when I arrived to Auburn and a busy day of meetings, I got to join the men for chapter. The pledges had just returned from a weekend pledge retreat where they grew closer together with one another and the officers. Chapter meeting was a formal chapter, and the men have implemented a formal dress code that you can see in the photo above. The men were looking sharp and have some fresh energy from their new pledge class.

After chapter meeting, the pledges gather together to have pledge time. The pledges have had a challenging but exciting pledgeship thus far and have enjoyed pledge swaps with sororities and serenading them as well. Check out the Auburn chapter update for a little taste of these men’s singing ability. The pledges have learned what Goldberg and Murray are all about, and they know to protect the fraternal challenge prize.

Here we have Andrew (President), Jake (Pledge Captain) and Will (Vice-President) as they hold the pledge ax handle and rock the National fraternity tie. Everyone in the chapter has the tie for formal events and ceremonies; under this officer corps we have continued to see growth on the foundations that were laid before them. The vision of growth doesn't just live among the officers though; the brothers are all in as keep looking for new ways to be an even better fraternity internally and externally.

The food at Auburn is some of the best in a college town with so many local places to choose from. Price’s BBQ House is a definite every time for breakfast with the chapter. I got to join several brothers and a couple pledges and hear some of the latest stories going around the chapter. This trip I got to meet with several potential officers—be praying for our men across the country as they go through the election process this month.
